  • Initially, visit the official website of Election commission of India as follows: http://www.nvsp.in/forms/form6.html
  • Once you hit on the link, it redirects you to a new web page where you can find a new registration form to apply for a voter ID card. 
  • Start filling up all the mandatory details that includes the following:
    • Name
    • Gender
    • Age
    • Date of Birth (DOB)
    • Address - State, District
    • Mobile number
    • E mail Id (It's Optional)

  • Once after the completion of form filling, you'll obtain a user Log-in Id and a Password which will be delivered to your registered mobile number.
  • Just Login with the same id and password to get the new voter id card registration form. Enter all your details in the application form.
  • You will be re-directed to a confirmation page, wherein you will have to confirm the details entered by you. After this has been verified, you can submit your form.
  • After all these process you will receive a mail on your registered E mail Id. You would receive a link, which will redirect you to your personal Voter’s Id page.

Documents to be Uploaded

  • Now, you need to attach a scanned passport size photograph.
  • Before heading to the registration process, you have to keep a copy of a scanned Identity proof and Address proof. 
  • After uploading your scanned photo, upload the identity and address proof in the similar way. 
  • Once again, recheck all your details given in the form and click on save. You will be re-directed to a confirmation page, wherein you will have to confirm the details entered by you. 
  • After this has been verified, you can submit your application form.
  • Once you successfully complete the application process, you will receive a mail on your registered E mail Id. 
  • You would receive a link, which will redirect you to your personal Voter’s Id page.

Verification

  • After a period of time, BLO officers visits your house in order to check whether the details provided in your application form are correct or not. 
  • If everything is correct, your voter id card will be delivered to your address within a month. 

Steps to Register for a New Voter ID Card Offline [Manual Process]

If the online registration process seems difficult, you can apply for a new voter ID card offline i.e., in a manual way. The Election commission of India has provided an application form for registering for a new voter id card which is called the form 6.   • Once you download the application form, fill in all your details
  • You can get your voter Id card delivered at any of your nearby election commission office or any nearby E-Seva center.

Points to be Remembered before Submitting the Form
