Here is the detailed step-by-step guide on how to change your address in voter ID card online and the process of filling the Form 8A regarding the Voter ID address change.

What is Form 8?

Form 8 is used to change the address of a voter in the id card. You can use this form only at times when you need to change mistakes in the electoral roll or voter id card, such as typos, spelling errors in your address and some other wrong information.   • Name (Including Surname)

  • Relation’s Name (Like Father/Mother/Husband)
Fill Part II

Enter the Address of the new residence that includes:
  • House No
  • Street
  • City
  • Mandal
  • District
  • Pincode
Fill Part III

Period of continuous residence at the above address on the date of application like in terms of years and months.

Fill Part IV

Part Number of the new district or polling booth where you want to exercise your right to vote.

Fill Part V

Enter the details of the applicant.

Fill Part VI

You need to declare that all the facts and particulars mentioned in the form are true. Sign in the form along with date and place. 

Submission

You need to submit the form along with your address proof that includes the electric bill, telephone bill of the new place and a copy of the voter ID card. You can either submit the credentials online by uploading a PDF file of the above-mentioned documents or you can even submit the hard copies to the Election Registration Officer (ERO). After submission, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) may visit your house in order to verify the form and finally you'll get your address changed on the voter id card or in the list at the polling booth.
